                                                                                                             Title 1

BonDeCroft Elementary School is a Title 1 school receiving funds provided by the federal government. The purpose of the Title 1 program is to ensure that all students have equal access to a quality education and the opportunity to achieve proficiency on state academic standards as well as on the TCAP assessment.

Title 1 funds provide our school with additional personnel, classroom materials and technology. At BonDeCroft Elementary the administration, faculty, staff and parents work together as a team to ensure the success of every student. Through our mission, vision and beliefs, every student can succeed at BonDeCroft.

                                                                             Beliefs

The BonDeCroft Elementary Beliefs, Common Mission and Shared Vision met and developed the following beliefs statements for our school.  These beliefs are shared by all faculty and staff and encouraged among all stakeholders.

We, the faculty and staff of BonDeCroft Elementary School believe:

  • All students can learn, but not all students learn in the same way or at the same pace.

  • The ability to read is fundamental to any success.

  • Learning occurs, and learning opportunities exist, in many locations and situations, in and out of the standard classroom setting.

  • The desire to learn is inherent, therefore, we must provide opportunities for that desire to be met and we must avoid those practices that impede that desire.

  • In the classroom, the teacher is single most important component in a student's education (not programs, initiatives, technology, or the latest fad), however...

  • True success cannot be attained without developing and utilizing a partnership with parents and the community.

  • Assessment is valid only if it directs instruction.  Assessment used solely for the purpose of establishing a grade in not a true measure of learning.

  • Assessments can be varied depending on the needs of individual students.

  • Student learning is the primary consideration in the decision-making process.

  • Each child will have the opportunity to reach their potential and beyond.

  • We shall continuously review and adjust our school policies and include all stakeholders in the decision-making process.

                                                                  Common Mission

The BonDeCroft Elementary Beliefs, Common Mission and Shared Vision met and developed the following mission statements for our school.  All faculty and staff share these beliefs.

The mission of BonDeCroft Elementary School is to provide a safe, structured, and encouraging environment that allows the children of our community to grow as students, citizens, and individuals.

                                                                    Shared Vision

We, the BonDeCroft Elementary School community share the vision of our school as:

  • A place that is removed from the turmoil of students' daily lives;

  • A school that is a safe place to learn, teach, and visit;

  • A place where we all learn and grow from our mistakes and accomplishments;

  • A school where students are encouraged to become problem solvers;

  • A school where students willingly take on challenges;

  • A place where students develop high expectations for themselves;

  • A place where students want to be;

  • A school that helps to develop positive memories that will influence future decisions;

  • A school where all students leave the 5th grade prepared for Middle School.
